I received many books to review over the past few months. One of the most interesting and thought provoking books I received was The Shadow Effect: Illuminating the Hidden Power of Your True Self by Dr. Deepak Chopra, Debbie Ford, and Marianne Williamson.

This book speaks about the dark places hidden inside all of us. It brings light to thoughts and experiences we try to ignore and hide. This book challenges us to look at our own darkness, understand the darkness, celebrate the darkness, and learn from the darkness.

It’s about listening to your authentic self.

It’s about self forgiveness.

My darkness? My shadow?

That would be some mysterious anger hiding in my shadows. Anger that is not welcomed into my life by my values or dreams – but somehow it creeps out of the darkness and shows it’s ugly head. I’m in the stage of looking at this shadow. I still can’t quite understand it and I’m not yet ready to celebrate it. I’m hoping by the time I’m done reading this book I’ll be able to learn from and honor this part of my darkness.

Thank you TLC Book Tours for sending me this book and for giving me the opportunity to explore my own shadow.

This can be very real and visible for those photography fans that are in capturing the natures captivating scenes : the mountains, the forests, the particular wild and the seas. Visiting these amazing places undoubtedly requires a video camera that can surpass the wilds hard areas.
