“I believe it’s your birthright to live the life you desire”
~ The Mother’s Guide to Self-Renewal: How to Reclaim, Rejuvenate and Re-Balance Your Life by Renee Peterson Trudeau ~

With spring approaching, I am declaring the rest of 2010 as the year to reclaim, rejuvenate, and re-balance my life…and I invite all of you to join me.

Enthused and inspired by Renee Peterson Trudeau, I will be using her award-winning book The Mother’s Guide to Self-Renewal: How to Reclaim, Rejuvenate and Re-Balance Your Life as a year-long guide to reconnect with my authentic self and make my personal self care a priority.

Here’s a snapshot of the Self-Renewal Project for Moms…

  • 183 pages of The Mother’s Guide to Self-Renewal, which includes a year-long guide with monthly themes and soul searching exercises for moms.
  • 183 posts on CreateaBalance.com as I slow down, connect with my natural inner wisdom, nurture my inner self, and examine what self-renewal means to me.
  • I will blog page by page from start to finish and hope you will join me.

Where will this lead? Not knowing is part of the fun.

How can you get involved?

  1. Join the Mr. Linky list below. Let us know you are carving out time in your life to invest in yourself by adding your name and URL. This will be a growing list of moms who are creating the lives they truly desire and deserve. This list will become my blogroll so it’s easy for other like-minded moms to find each other.
  2. Join us on Twitter for an evening of self renewal (a social networking Mom’s Night Out). You can participate in FREE weekly Self Renewal Parties on Twitter using the hashtag #MomRenewal every Friday from 9:00 to 10:00 p.m. EST (6:00 p.m. PST). I’m playing with the day and time, so this may change overtime.
    • Learn more about Self Renewal Parties
    • RSVP by tweeting the following sentence “@CreateaBalance I’m participating in this week’s Self-Renewal Twitter Party for Moms.” (you do not have to RSVP to participate).
  3. Join us by phone for an evening of self-renewal (a virtual Mom’s Night Out). The first FREE Self-Renewal Party by phone is Sunday, March 21, from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. EST (5:30 p.m. PST).
  4. Join a Personal Renewal Group — a monthly women’s circle based on The Mother’s Guide to Self-Renewal. By participating in a Personal Renewal Group for Moms,  you’ll receive resources for creating balance in your life, strategies and insights for self-renewal,  ideas on reconnecting with “who you are”, a meaningful community connection with like-minded moms, a copy of Renee Trudeau’s book The Mother’s Guide to Self-Renewal and email coaching support in between meetings.

  • We mothers are so good at the endless list of projects. I love this approach, to make our own nurturing and self renewal, the focus.

  • It looks like you’re really taking care of Moms and growing a strong community.

Renewal is a gift that keeps on giving and I think it’s contagious.

  • Chrysula – Yes! It’s time we put our own nurturing and our self renewal at the top of our list of projects!

Sarabeth – The thought of connecting with other like-minded women and reconnecting with myself sounds amazing because it give me the community I’m seeking and the quiet time I need to listen to my natural inner wisdom.

J.D. – Thanks. I’m looking forward to watching this community grow and attract other moms who are ready to reclaim, rejuvenate, and re-balance their lives.

I just completed a year long journey with my personal renewal group and it was truly life-changing. I have learned so much from the exercises in The Mothers Guide to Self-Renewal. I chant over and over to myself each day that “good is good enough” and you know what, it actually is! I am living proof!!!

I am super excited to continue my journey at Renee’s self-renewal retreat in April. Hopefully I’ll get to meet some of you ladies there. I’ll be the one in sweats and a ponytail because “good is good enough.” 🙂

  • Great idea, Stacey! I did a yearlong Personal Renewal Group with Renee when she was still leading a group herself, and it was amazing. I’m also a trained PRG facilitator, though I’ve been inactive for a while. Recently, I’ve been feeling the urgent call for a self-care ramp-up, though, so I greatly appreciate the opportunity to be included on your blogroll, and intend to offer some guest blogs for you! Thank you!! 🙂

  • Count me in! Discovering the self-care message has been life-changing for me. So much so, that I felt called to lead my own Personal Renewal Groups. Seeing myself and the women in the groups transform into more empowered, confident, refreshed mom’s makes me even more committed to this work. Not only is it impacting my well-being, but the well-being of my spouse, kiddos and friends b/c I’m able to encourage them to seek their renewal.

  • Found your blog through UBP10!! I’m new to blogging so I’m hopping around a lot this week to get ideas from other mom bloggers. Feel free to check out my blog at http://www.WorkingMomsNetwork.com and let me know what you think. Have a great weekend.

  • I love the sound of this, though I must admit at this point it’s all a bit overwhelming. Pretty much the way life is right now. Hopefully things will start to sink in and become more clear soon. 🙂

  • I am starting up a new PRG for Moms, meeting one Monday morning per moth for ONE YEAR!!

    Please contact me for details.

The magic is in the book, it’s in the connection that grows between the moms, and it’s in the muffins! Give us the opportunity to “hold the space” for you and your self-care, and behold what miracles ensue!

  • Count me in! I’m looking forward to learning more about the Mother’s Guide.

  • Thanks so much for allowing Moms to connect. The day after the 2010 election I started a blog that features a daily story of an idea that works. The ideas and stories come from individuals, non profits, neighbors, businesses, and government. I feature stories about the economy, environment, health care and education. It is an eclectic mix of stories, everything from sharing organic baby food with other busy Moms, to posts of how the Stimulus is saving jobs. My motto is “come to my blog to get a daily dose of good news that provides encouragement and hope”.
