“When you calm your mind and your senses,
you become conscious of your always-present inner Self.”
~Unknown~

I was introduced to Snatam Kaur’s song Long Time Sun during my very first Kundalini yoga class at Lululemon’s last night. If you are not familiar with Kundalini yoga, I believe it combines more traditional Hatha yoga with physical meditative techniques. The purpose of Kundalini yoga is to awaken inner knowledge.

At the end of the yoga session, my instructor invited us listen, meditate, and sing to Snatam Kaur’s beautiful song filled with sunshine, light, and inner truth.

Today, I invite you to listen, meditate, and sing to Snatam Kaur’s beautiful song too.

May the long time sun shine upon you
All love surround you
And the pure light that’s within you
Guide your way on

May the long time sun shine upon you as a woman and as a mom.

  • Stacey,
Wow, that is such a peace-filled song. I listened earlier this morning, and felt myself immediately going into a very calm space, and just letting the words soak in. So good to listen to today…

  • Stacey, wow, so glad you are exploring kundalini yoga. The chakra meditation that I practice is related to this tradition (although I originally learned it from a Tibetan Buddhist teacher.) Thanks for sharing.

  • Lance – Happy to see you here and I’m happy this song is stuck in my head all weekend log. May the long time sun shine upon you today and always.

Lisa (mommymystic)– This was the first time I experienced such an active and physical form of meditation (e.g. eyes open with lots of movement). I really liked it.
